What To Know About Paperhand

Commonly Asked Questions

  • Most people start out by volunteering to be a stage performer. Those applications open closer to when the show opens. Stage performers are required to commit for a full weekend - Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

  • No! This is a very casual, drop in environment for our Saturday community workdays. Our studio is open to anyone from 10am-5pm. Children are welcome to join you as well. No need to ask, request a time, etc. Just drop in whenever you can, for however long you can when our studio is open.

Our studio is not normally open to volunteers outside of our Saturday workdays.

  • Our shows take 30+ people to perform and produce. Most of our cast and crew have day jobs, so we cannot take our full summer show on the road.

However, we have a smaller show that we take on the road often - World of Wonder - and it only requires 3-4 people to make it happen!

  • Yes, our community workdays from May - July, happen every Saturday from 10am-5pm, regardless of other events on our calendar.

  • Sometime in June every year. We notify our email list and post on social media when tickets are ready for purchase.

Most shows don’t sell out until the day before or day of a show, so you have plenty of time to purchase tickets.

  • We have video footage from some of our past shows, which you can find on each individual past show page, if there is one. Unfortunately, we do not have videos from every show we’ve performed and don’t have them stored somewhere. What we have on our website is all we have access to.

The same thing goes for our music, if it’s on a past show page, that’s what we have available.

  • Typically, we do not. We do not organize workshops. We are usually booked for workshops off-site for organizations or larger groups.

  • We welcome photographers at our events - and even in our studio! Please reach out to info@paperhandpuppet.org to coordinate for in-studio. You’re welcome to bring your camera to any of our shows or events. We would love to see your images!
